Again, for the umpteenth time, a boat
containing 55 illegal Rohingya migrants who fled the country, Myanmar,
was found. They are found off the coast of North Aceh (about 20 miles
from the mainland) by the fishermen of North Aceh, Indonesia. Rohingya
refugees are now been handled Immigration Indonesia and placed in the
building of the former Immigration Lhokseumawe as temporary shelters.
In refugee camps, immigration authorities, assisted by the IOM (International Organization for Migration) provides everything that is in need of immigrants, ranging from clothing, food, blankets, medical teams, as well as sports facilities for immigrants. At first, the language barrier makes it difficult in the immigration record the name, origin, purpose and their motive escape from their country, because almost of all immigrants who speak no English active and passive, and the problem was solved after the IOM to bring Mr. Ahsan, a Translater from Bangladesh who can speak Rohingya.
Based on what is presented by immigrants to Mr. Ahsan, they came from Aykkyab, a remote area of Myanmar. They chose to escape from their country because of discrimination by the Government of Myanmar military junta. Homes and their land was taken forcibly by the Myanmar military, Rohingya children should not attend school , do not get a resident card, religious discrimination and many other discrimination they experience. Therefore, they chose to migrate to Malaysia, to follow their brethren who have managed to enter Malaysia illegally. Unfortunately for them, in the middle way to Malaysia, their boat ran out of fuel causing them stranded for 13 days at sea, until finally discovered by fishermen in Aceh.
Rohingya tribe is a muslim ethnic that not recognized (by government and most citizens of Myanmar) as part of the native tribes of Myanmar, they are considered tribal Bengali (Bangladesh ethnic) brought by the British invaders 1000 years ago during the invasion of Burma. Now for a while, 55 immigrants can feel the serenity, exercise, joking and get proper treatment from the immigration Indonesia Indonesia government decided to act for them, if deported to their home countries, or sent to third countries who are willing to accommodate them.
